- What makes this range special?
A. Biohance has formulated these products with the world’s most advanced anti-aging ingredients. The clinical evidence for the success of these ingredients is overwhelming. - Surely there are new and improved ingredients coming out all the time?
A. Yes, but some of them are so new, they are not yet proven on the market. This is why Biohance has adopted only those that we know work and have a proven track record. - Then what distinguishes your products from those we might buy containing the same ingredients?
A. Most commercial companies do not divulge the content of active ingredients within their formulae. Experience has told us that a lot of the competing products are sub-therapeutic. That is, there are not enough of the active ingredients contained to do what they say that it will do. Biohance bases its formulae MINIMALLY on laboratory tests (in vitro) and what works successfully on the skin (in vivo). Clinical data is readily available to back up what we say. - Other companies claim their products are the best. What makes yours different?
A. Biohance has adopted the best that the latest, non-invasive technology can provide. The reality is that because we are a relatively small company, we are able to utilize the best that new technology can offer in a very short time. Often the larger multi-national companies will lag the market by around 5 years before similar products are launched. The size and scale of their marketing machinery warrants a much longer lead time than we have. - My existing anti-aging products have a more silky touch and feel than yours! Why is that?
A. Biohance has optimised our product bases to best suit the active ingredients used. Efficient transdermal delivery of actives to the site of action makes the difference to whether the product works or not. It is the cream or serum base that is responsible for this function and that is why the ‘touch and feel’ of our formulations may differ to others. All cosmetic companies will claim that theirs are the best for certain reasons! - What’s all the fuss about “biopeptides”?
A. Biopeptide technology represents the very latest in skin anti-aging research. It is only through new breakthroughs in what we learn about skin science that these new products emerge. Over the last 30 years much of the product development that has occurred worldwide had been through the success of antioxidant skin formulations. However, because most antioxidants such as vitamins A, C and E are inherently unstable, product development through the years involved improving the stability of these antioxidants. While vitamin antioxidants are hugely important to the function of the skin and they still have a major part to play in skin health, we now find that biopeptide technology has leap-frogged a lot of the benefits of antioxidants in terms of anti-aging. Antioxidants preserve the skin from free radical damage caused by normal, everyday living in the fast lane. Biopeptide technology changes our skin by stimulating collagen production at the deepest layers. - How do ‘biopeptides’work?
A. Essentially, biopeptides are synthetic copycats of proteins already in your body. As part of the natural life cycle of cells in your body, cells age and break down and become replaced. As they breakdown, long complex proteins split off into smaller protein fragments which become natural triggers for your body to begin the regeneration process or another chain event. In the case of Biohance Night Formulation, the biopeptide involved is palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 ( Matrixyl™). This peptide is responsible for triggering the process for the regeneration of natural collagen in the dermal layers of the skin. For Biohance Daily Wrinkle Release, the peptide responsible is acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline®). This peptide emulates the natural protein fragment that blocks the biochemical transmitter release at the neuromuscular junction that is responsible for wrinkle formation. There is also another mechanism that involves the ‘SNAP’ biochemical process – watch this space for more at some point in the future! - Biohance Instant Lift doesn’t have a biopeptide. So how does this work?
A. Biohance Instant Lift contains two key ingredients. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) and DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol). The former is already present in our body, and in our view, we don’t have enough of it. ALA is what we would term as a “super-antioxidant” shown to be 400 times more powerful than Vitamin A. The beauty about ALA is that it is both water and oil soluble, so it can penetrate both outside and inside skin cells. Outside the cell it serves to effectively mop up damaging free radicals that cause premature skin aging. Inside the cell, ALA helps fuel the powerhouse of the cell (mitochondria) allowing for efficient cell metabolism that includes uptaking essential nutrients and expelling waste quickly and efficiently.
DMAE on the other hand, also naturally present in the body, is thought to promote the filling of vacuoles surrounding skin cells with interstitial fluids, hence you get an instant ‘plumping’ effect in the skin that fills out wrinkles. And yes, it’s quite safe to use this product every day.
- I like your containers, but why are some of them not see-through? I don’t know when I’m about to run out.
A. Fair comment, and we apologise for the inconvenience. In most cases when we use non-see through containers, it’s because some of the active ingredients are light sensitive, e.g. Vitamin C. Similarly, we also ensure that they are air tight, hence we use vacuum pump bottles that don’t let air back in as you use it. Biohance wants to make sure that the product stays as fresh and stable as possible and we’re sure you would agree. (We even suggest that people keep Instant Lift in the fridge.) - Why don’t we see Biohance products in all of the shops?
A. Besides all the commercial aspects of this question, at Biohance we are extremely passionate about our products. Biohance formulations have been developed and sold previously only to Appearance and Medical Practitioners. Biohance is only now allowing this range of products to be made available to the general public. Because of the special nature of these products, we know only the discerning will buy and benefit from them.
